Galaxy Yatzy

One game, three variants

Everyone has their own yatzy. The variant is chosen when the game starts and sets the number of dice, the categories and the bonus.

• Nordic

  Scandinavian rules with 15 categories, including One Pair and Two Pairs. Most combinations score their matching dice.

  Five dice · 50 pt bonus

• International

  Yahtzee-style with 13 categories and no pair categories. Full House scores 25 and straights award fixed points.

  Five dice · 35 pt bonus

• Maxi

  Six dice and 20 categories, adding Three Pairs, Five of a Kind, Full Straight, Villa and Tower.

  Six dice · 100 pt bonus

Scoring order

Beyond the variant, you choose how freely the categories may be filled in — the same house rules you already settle at the table, built in.

• Free

  Score any unscored category you like on each turn. Standard rules.

• Sequential

  Categories must be filled from top to bottom. Only the first unscored category is available each turn.

• Follow

  The first player each round picks the category, and everyone else that round must score the same one.

Built to be played together

• Shake to roll

  Shake the device and the dice rattle — with sound and haptics that keep going as long as you shake. Or just tap the button.

• Around one screen

  Add as many players as you are, name them and drag them into order. The names are still there for the next game.

• Undo

  Filled in the wrong box? Undo the last action and carry on — without restarting the game.

• The game keeps

  A game in progress is saved locally and resumes where you left off, even after the app has been closed.

• The scorecard up front

  The whole scorecard stays visible, with sums, bonus and how far you still are from the bonus.

• Accessible

  Dice, boxes and standings are labelled for VoiceOver, so the game can be followed without seeing the screen.
